01Acceptance

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of this site and any content, publications or materials made available through it. By accessing the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Where you have entered into a written services agreement with AIGX, that agreement governs the services and prevails over these terms to the extent of any conflict.

02Definitions

AIGX

AIGX Research™, a corporation, together with its affiliates.

Site

aigx.ca and its subdomains.

AIGR™ Rating

A categorical AI governance designation from AIGR-100 to AIGR-40, or AIGR-NR, issued by AIGX within a defined scope and date.

Governance Score™

The separate 0–100 analytical measure produced during an assessment.

Rating Report

A document issued by AIGX setting out a rating, its rationale, conditions, scope and validity period.

03Nature of AIGX ratings

An AIGR™ Rating is an opinion on AI governance maturity and evidence confidence within a defined assessment scope, as at a stated date. It is expressly not:

  • A certification, accreditation or attestation of compliance
  • A regulatory approval, authorization or licence
  • An audit opinion or assurance engagement under any professional standard
  • A credit rating, or a statement about creditworthiness or financial condition
  • A legal opinion or a determination of compliance with any law
  • A guarantee of the safety, accuracy, reliability or performance of any AI system
  • A recommendation to buy, sell, hold, deploy, procure or discontinue anything

AIGR-100 through AIGR-40 are proprietary designations. They are not percentages, probabilities, scores out of 100, or equivalents to any external rating scale. Any familiar letter-grade reference is a secondary, non-operative communication aid only.

A rating reflects a defined point in time and may change, be suspended or be withdrawn when the underlying governance environment changes.

04No professional advice

Content on this Site is provided for general information. It is not legal, regulatory, audit, certification, security, privacy, technology, procurement, credit, investment, financial or medical advice, and must not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

Regulatory requirements and standards change. You are responsible for independently verifying the requirements applicable to you.

05Permitted use of the site

You may access and view the Site, and download materials expressly offered for download, for your own internal business use. You must not:

  • Copy, republish, redistribute or commercially exploit Site content except as permitted in Section 7
  • Scrape, harvest, or use automated means to extract content, or use content to train machine learning models
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account or data
  • Interfere with the operation, security or integrity of the Site
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or submit false information
  • Remove or obscure any proprietary notice, disclaimer or attribution

06Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including text, design, layout, graphics, methodology descriptions and publications, is owned by AIGX or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

AIGX™, AIGR™, AIGX Research™, AIGX Governance Score™ and the AIGX rating designations are trademarks of AIGX Research. No licence to use them is granted except as expressly stated in writing.

The methodology, weights, thresholds, calibration logic, scoring rules and conversion logic underlying an AIGX assessment are confidential and proprietary, and are not disclosed by publication of framework or methodology summaries.

07Use of ratings and reports

Where AIGX issues a Rating Report to a client, the client may share it with its customers, prospective customers, regulators, auditors and advisers for the purpose of demonstrating governance status, provided that:

  • The report is shared complete and unaltered, including its scope, conditions, date and validity period
  • The rating is not presented as a certification, approval or attestation of compliance
  • Expired or withdrawn ratings are not represented as current
  • The Governance Score™ is not presented as, or converted into, an AIGR™ designation
  • Extracts, summaries and marketing references do not create a materially misleading impression of the rating

AIGX may require correction or cessation of any use that misrepresents a rating, and may withdraw a rating where misrepresentation is not remedied.

08Illustrative content

Product interfaces, scores, control identifiers, gate states, designations and rating outputs shown on this Site are illustrative examples created for demonstration. They are not issued ratings, do not describe any real organization or AI system, and must not be relied upon for any purpose.

09Third-party standards and marks

References to third-party standards, regulations and frameworks — including ISO/IEC, NIST, SOC 2, the EU AI Act, OECD and UNESCO instruments — are provided for alignment and context only. They do not imply affiliation, endorsement, sponsorship, certification or validation by their respective owners, and AIGX is not an accredited certification body in respect of any of them.

All third-party names and marks remain the property of their owners.

10Submissions

Do not submit confidential information, personal health information, personal data of third parties, or trade secrets through Site forms. Information submitted through the Site is treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy but is not subject to any obligation of confidentiality unless a written agreement provides otherwise.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant AIGX a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use them without restriction or compensation.

13Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, currency, non-infringement and uninterrupted availability.

14Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AIGX and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity or anticipated savings, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, whether based in contract, tort, statute or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AIGX’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Site is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Liability arising from a written services agreement is governed by that agreement.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

15Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AIGX and its personnel from any claim, loss, liability, cost or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Site, or your misrepresentation of any AIGX rating or publication.

16Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, subject to any mandatory rights you may have to bring proceedings in your place of residence.

If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

17Changes

We may revise these terms. The effective date and version above indicate the current release. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Prior versions are available on request.
